Camp Freedom

This year, we have chosen Camp Freedom at Heritage Scout Reservation in Southwestern Pennsylvania for our summer camp. Many of you may recognize this campsite from our October Spelunking/Caving Campout.

• Location: Heritage Scout Reservation, Camp Freedom, 300 Heritage Rd, Farmington, PA 15437

• Payment Deadline: Final payment is required by April 1 to keep costs low. Please bring in the money by our March 19 meeting.

  • Accepted payment types: Cash, Check, Scout Account, or online payment

• Camp Operation: Camp operates on block scheduling, with most merit badge classes running for 1.5 hours over two days. Some exceptions include Swimming and Lifesaving, which run for 1.5 hours over 4 days, and Shooting sports, which run for 3 hours over 2 days. Fridays are typically reserved for fun activities or catching up on requirements.

• Alternative Programs: Scouts over 14 have the option to participate in daily adventure programs if they're not interested in merit badges. See Older Scout Programs - Day Trek for details.

• Preparation: Many badges require prerequisites or post-camp work, so please be prepared accordingly.

• Swim Test: We will conduct the swim test before camp on a date that will be announced soon.

• Health Forms: Part A, B, and C health forms are mandatory for this week-long camp. Part C will likely have expired from last year and requires a doctor's signature. BSA Medical Form ABC

• Upcoming Meetings: Campmasters Chris McDonough and Robert Thompson will be in attendance at upcoming meetings to answer any additional questions about the camp.
